Cool radar detector mod

I decided to do a hard wire with my radar detector and mount it on my rear view mirror with a bracket i picked up off ebay. I'm very happy with the results and thought i'd share

Looks slick!
My radar has been hard wired since I got it back in summer 09.
It's the only way to do it on these SUVs since the console 12V stays on when the car is turned off.
I visor clipped mine though. It works just as good as it does anywhere else high on the windshield and hide the device from peeking thieves.

Last week I saw a post on another forum where a company can make the DIC show you the direction the signal is coming from and what tow of signal it is, along with an audio warning. The demo video was on a Malibu. I wonder if it is available for the Tahoe.

I just heard today that Iphone has an app for nav and a radar detector that also tells you where the traffic light cameras are.
