i think its like 14-15bux off amazon. one of those stupid tools you dont think you need. but fight with the hose end for an hour or break the end off your heater core and then try telling me its not worth it

man..... that sh*t don't work, especially on something that has been mutated from hot/cold over years and years and years
just cut the plastic tabs and walla, 5 minute job.
i fought with it once with every dam tool made, never again

After reading all the posts about how it’s a PITA, I paid dealer to do it. $$ but was done right and I didn’t have to worry about screwing it up.

Glad you found a solution. For posterity, pushing the connector toward the firewall and squeezing the tabs is the way. I got them off both of my Yukons easily that way.

After much ado I took it to a mechanic and had it back the next day. His knuckles were as bad as mine. Aloha!
