Yep, thats your heater core, but I must warn you that it's an insanely messy, involved, and time consuming job. I changed the core in my 96 volvo last year, and the whole dash had to come out to remove the HVAC system...

Well here is what went down this morning. I got the black cover off. I was able to get the heater core to wiggle. I can not find where the black hoses connect to the metal hose on the heater core. Ok but here is something I noticed. My Radiator and the barf can in back neither had any coolant. Like the Radiator was near empty. I am wondering if this could have began to cause this. I took an entire can of DexCoolant and filled them both. I decided to drive my GF's car today so heading out now and she is going to take the Tahoe to her work and I get to show off with the hot pink wheels she has lol.

If I can not figure it out this afternoon when I get home I am just going to wait until the 19th and will pay someone to do it when I get new Tires and Wheels put on.

unknown at this time.
you may he just boiled it all out because of the leak and when cooled suck the reservoir dry in the process. The hoses attach to the fitting at firewall in engine compartment.

Got the thing stripped apart today. Had to remove a few pieces. I pulled out the Airfilter and box had to unhook all of that. Also had to remove the Coolant puke box in back. Now the fun part comes. The rubber tubing in there is real old they are completely stuck to the old heater core. I also broke the port valve that goes from the heater core tubes to the radiator etc. So now it is sitting in the condo parking lot with a bunch of parts in the front seat and the tubes are leaking a ton of coolant. I tossed down a big bucket to take it all to not get another write up (I already got 2 strikes for my dogs) Oreilly has the port thing for 18.00 and I am gonna get new tubes. The issue is the hose clamps. Those things are little ******'s! I want to get different ones if possible. So another 40.00 or so and this heater situation will be good to go. Also gonna get another 2 jugs of DexCool and 2 gallons of distilled water. I heard it is good idea to run distilled through and clear out all old junk.

Now to hop in this girly ass car and drive it on down.
