My parts are starting to trickle in to do valley pan gasket, knock sensor seals, knock sensors and of course intake manifold gaskets on our '05 Tahoe. After much reading and research, I guess its common to disconnect the coolant crossover pipe and re seal them? I'm seeing these (link below). I guess these basically get sandwiched between the steam pipe connection (which already has a seal in it) and the mating surface? Do these work well? And does anyone know the torque specs on the bolts to crossover pipe?

there just rubber seals, the original ones get flattened over time and become soft and fall apart and eventually leak. not sure of the torque spec @swathdiver ?

Right, got that. But do these things just get sandwiched in-between the existing ports and the mating surface?
when you remove the pipe yes it is placed inbetween the grooved part that mates to the head, when you pull the pipes off you will see, doesn't need any sealant or anything, just remove the old flat one and put the new one on.
it's basically a o-ring
