Correct adhesive tape for emblems?

What is the correct adhesive tape for applying emblems? My X fell off. And I want to reattach it.

I assume something by 3M. I only need a small amount.

I'm thinking this stuff. It's very thin. As opposed to the thick foamy stuff. And I can double it up if need be. Did a little research on the old interwebs and found good recommendations for it.

3M VHB 5952 tape on size you need, 50/50 alcohol water wipe preps, 94 primer stick. All them and it will never come off

VHB is no joke. Just that alone would be plenty for it to almost never fall off again. The primer would be a 110% reassurance of that lol

It looks kinda thick. Just wondering if it's gonna cause the letter to raise up to high off the paint.

It's 0.045" thick so 1.1mm. That's pretty damn thin dude. Do it my way with all the steps I said it will never come off. Also use same process on any other body panels.

That one's only 1/4" wide. You want the widest you can use.
