Correct adhesive tape for emblems?

The paint supply house sells a prep that costs less than $2 that they sell to paint shops I think it's more about the prep, like any paint work, than the actual tape. You have to ensure the paint has no wax or sealer where you're adding tape. I learned this because both sides do my Denali has the side moldings come off. I did the 3m tape but a year later had same issue. This prep he gave me was the size of a toilette you get when eating ribs and was enough for all 4 mouldings with more to spare. Everyone would do good to go to the supply house where painters get their paint to learn a thing or two.

Wouldn't acetone be enough? I mean assuming you scrubbed off all the residue from the previous tape?

3M VHB 5952 tape on size you need, 50/50 alcohol water wipe preps, 94 primer stick. All them and it will never come off

I used this stuff. And so far that sucker has not come off. Worked perfectly. Right thickness too.
