I think mine might be dead. I just got the truck. PO said I could open the rear hatch by pushing the button on the console or by pushing the "rear 2x" button on my remote, but couldn't open it any other way.

Am I supposed to be able to do it with the key in the rear lock cylinder? B/c I can't. If I am, what could be wrong? Everything else about the central locking works except for the front passenger door, for which I have an actuator on order.

I should probably clarify that I can turn the key in the lock -- it's quite stiff but it does turn. But nothing happens as far as popping the latch for the hatch or activating the central locking system.

You will have to tear it down for sure. If it is really stiff then you know you have a dirty mechanism. when you open it open it up the damage will be apparent.

Haha, well I have no idea what I did to fix it. I took the interior panel off while investigating a sticking latch on the gate (one side, the cable needs to be tightened) and while I was in there I started playing with the key cylinder. And it started working!! So I lubed everything up in there and put it back together. And it still works now that it's back together.

One other question: is the rear key cylinder supposed to be capable of unlocking all the doors, or does it just operate the rear hatch? Because mine operates the rear hatch (well now it does anyways lol) but it does not operate the central locking system. And looking at the back side of it, it doesn't look like it has any microswitches on it.

negative Ghost Rider it operates it own lock there are no key position micro-switches that activate the central power lock system.
