Oh I see... Thanks for the info! Anyone have a useful DIY guide to get this sucker put on? This might be something I might try and tackle before the BB Tune/Houston mid-July.

not to freak you out, if its not too late, but I've heard of a few people including a friend of mine, who did the servos and didn't get the snap ring on properly, went for a drive, and ended up buying themselves a new transmission.

I'd spend the $50-100 and have a shop with liability do it. But that's just me...

Yeaaaa I read a few more threads about it and definitely will not be doing this myself. I read that a bunch of shops won't even do it bc they don't want to be responsible for f'n up the transmission. I've already bookmarked/"watched" the item in mind (http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/e...0549060837&viewitem=&sspagename=STRK:MEWAX:IT) that 2ELO (thanks!) told me about. This has been pushed up the list after getting the BB Tune...

It's really not as scary as people make it out to be. If you just take your time and make sure you do everything properly and double check to make sure the snap ring is completely seated then there's really nothing to worry about. Even if you're extra cautious and take your time you can still be done in 30-35 minutes.

Felix the ebay add is only for 3-4th you need to the corvette servo also. Also bb recommends you do it before tune

Get a TransGo 4L60E HD-2 shift reprogramming kit along with the Corvette servo. I just put both in my '03 Silverado and absolutely love it. My truck is bone stock and those 2 took all the slop out of the tranny. It is still smooth under a light foot. When you get in it, it shifts quick and firm. I got both from Summit Racing for about $110 shipped.

You do have to get into the transmission and remove the valve body as part of the kit installation. If you have a good set of tools and are mechanically inclined, you can do it in one day. If it scares you, find a transmission shop.
