I just put one in my 2001 5.3L Tahoe today actually. It was not bad until the very end trying to put the snap ring back on. What a headache! Make sure the cover is pushed in flush! I thought mine was in as far as it could go but it took 30 mins to figure out it needed to be forced in another 1/8 inch. Then the snap ring went in easily. Everything else was a piece of cake. Just follow the instructions that you can find by searching the forums. That's what i did. It doesn't shift as hard as i was expecting though, and by the way my trans has 110K on it currently.

Honestly i drove to work this morning and forgot i even put it in there yesterday. So that should tell you no i really dont notice that much of a difference. Now when you drive WOT from a dead stop then you do notice a harder 1st to 2nd shift. But just normal driving thru town i dont notice a BIG change. But the part is only $20.

needle nose pliers, 10mm socket and ratchet, 3 flat head screw drivers small medium and large, small container to catch trans fluid, c clamp, jack, jackstands, extra quart trans fluid. Thats all it took for me.

After driving around with the servo installed matched with the BlackBear tune I've also noticed my trans temp being lower. The weather has been the same around my area over the holiday weekend so I know it's not that.

Firmer shifts and lower trans temp...i'm impressed...

Mine just came in today, the instructions seem a little difficult to understand. But Iwas wondering about getting the 4th gear servo, I dont do alote of towing but would like the shift resonse to be faster without putting my foot through the fire wall. Is this something to look into

---------- Post added at 09:13 PM ---------- Previous post was at 09:10 PM ----------

I wouldn't do anything besides the Corvette servo and Superior or Sonnax 4th gear servo.

Your Tahoe isn't a race car.... You don't want it slamming into the next gear, you just want quick, snappy shifts.

Define the reason for the 4th servo????? I just got the servo but did not get nothing for the 4th gear servo. Whats the + for this with normal driving conditions
