This is my first post. My name is Tara and I am having a few problems with my Tahoe that I could use some help figuring out. I have a 2007 Tahoe that I bought used in 2011 with 80,000KM. It worked well and had all the service done at the dealership. It has around 190,000 KM on it now and I am having a couple of problems that I figured someone may be able to help me with.
First problem is I am getting a tick from the passenger side lower end of the motor but its really hard to tell if its coming from the head or the block. I am going to do a compression test later today. I was thinking maybe a spun bearing or a valve. What is the easiest way troubleshooting this problem and if I had to bring it into the dealership what should I expect as far as a repair bill. If we rip the motor down to fix a bearing should I be concerned about replacing other parts since its getting up there in the millage? I have noticed that over 5000K I will burn about 1 -2 quarts of oil.
My other problem is I need to know where the Air Bag Control box is located. I have a air bag light on and the dealership looked at it but couldn't connect to the module. I am thinking it could be a bit of water damage from the past winter.
Any help/diagrams would be really appreciated.
Thanks
