Thanks for all the helpful replies, I will start looking at the starter first, then go from there if that's not the fix.

I thought this was the 07-14 Tahoe section, with a 2013 Tahoe wouldn't it fit right in? Where should I have put it?

What dah? That’s a new one to add into the TYF files. I’m sure the dealer would at least get “needs new motor” diagnoses vs the starter though

It's in my post. The return spring fails and lets the drive gear tink against the flywheel.

You're in the right section for your 2013, but your signature can be misleading. If the 2013 is in your fleet, consider adding it to your signature. Or if you've upgraded to the later model, edit your sig.

Changed out the starter tonight, new one works great and is quiet. Problem solved! Thank you very much for your help.
