cracked and warped heads...what to do now?

okay. well guys. i went to the machine shop to test my heads and ones warped and the other is cracked...sooo i was thinking getting older style heads. not the vortec. would there be a power diffrence? would it work with my original vortec intake? or should i just go and search around for some used heads? opinions and help please.

Well i just reseachd and i want new vortec heads. soooo wheres a place to buy? and could i just use all the old rockers,springs,etc on the new ones?

well my heads are warped and cracked. i know i want new vortec ones. but i cant find a place with a decent price. Could i use the same springs valves etc. on the new ones? and i want to put a good cam in there. soo cam advice too and if i would have to machine anything on the heads.

My machine shop guy has a bunch from people that brought them in and never paid ... ask yours.

I got one set from a local guy on Craigslist and another set off a lady that had a mechanic for a dad, he swapped an engine and I ended up with his old 350 longblock.

There is too much to swap between nonvortec and vortec on carbed engines, forget about an FI setup.

alright thanks. well i have another question. what would i have to do to install a cam. like as in,what i have to machine on the heads/buy parts

It really depends ... I have Vortec heads with stock LS6 beehive springs, I'm good to just over .550 lift. If you have a cam that will work with those you are all set. Comp makes a set of drop in beehive springs too with a lil more seat pressure for a roller setup. You really have to decide on a cam and go with springs that will work, not the other way around.
