In the same boat!! my dealer said 3K for a new screen!?!?!? the part number they are trying to sell me is 85157661, Another guy on here told me part number 85100043 is the correct screen.. Wonder if 21 and 22 are different?? and why one would be 3x as much? i googled the part my dealer said and it has a MSRP $3252, the 85100043 has a MSRP of $962 both say F Display no other info that i can find..
I have a Chevy Tahoe 2023. The unfortunate thing is that there are two separate part number for the right and left screens. Now I don't know if it's due to the assembly unit along with the screen or is the actual screen different. I managed to find a number of "only screen replacements" on eBay for $500 but not sure if it will work. The part numbers for Tahoe 2023 are: 86786028 (R) 86786026 (L)

An ipad air costs $600 and is way more functional that the rear media screens given by GM. I'm almost tempted to get the screens removed and just buy ipad with car mounts. The screen breaks at slightest impact and costs a ton!

iPads things to consider:
Power to charge
Media downloaded
WiFi or cellular? Cellular to stream while mobile or at least be connected to hotspot
No screen sharing from other devices

Any luck just replacing just the screen? I ordered just the screen off amazon but am struggling to figure out how to pull apart the old screen from the housing.

Anyone else try the LCD replacement for $450 option? I did that on my ‘21 suburban and now neither screen will turn on. Up front on the dash it says “connect device” for each screen. I called GM and they just said to take it to a dealer.

I'll answer my own question in case anyone else cares. I was successful replacing just the LCD screen vs the whole unit. That said, both screens stopped working once I did it. They wouldn't even turn on. I had to go to the dealership where they claim I had a loose connection on the side that I worked on plus it needed "some programming". $250 later they're both functional again.

Just dropping a message here.

I just purchased a 2021 Yukon with the rear seat screens. I plan on removing them to sell at some point. If anyone is interested please message me directly. They both work. I have the GMC headphones (pair) too.

Here’s a quick shot just opening the rear door.
