Craigslist ad sounds like a scam...

pretty much all car ads on CL are scams. either dealers that are sub bar advertising on CL or fake cars to begin with.

parts and other stuff are alot easier to deal with. but cars, boats, and RVs and motorcycles all kinda suck as far as legitimacy but the car ads are the ones that are bombarded with scams.

Do you really believe that? I can understand that there may be a lot of scams, but "pretty much all" is quite an implication. I've sold three cars on CL, and even found the add for my previous Yukon on CL. There may be a lot of dealers, but quite a few of them are legitimate dealers. I looked at several Tahoes when I was looking for a newer one just two months ago. Several of the Tahoes I looked at were from CL and were not scams at all.

I personally have bought and sold quite a few cars/trucks on CL with GREAT success

My current tenant in my 2nd floor unit was found on Craigslist. 2 years and not late with the rent once and has caused 0 problems so far. The reason I posted the ad was because i've had good luck using Craigslist as a buyer and seller.

Agree, not all ads on CL are scams. You need to read the ads carefully. I bought my last 2 vehicles, 97 dakota club cab 4x4, and my big sexy Yukon, of CL. Both were from dealers. Have also purchased a bunch of items of the CL from individual sellers. IMO, cl is like ebay. you got to read the fine print.
