Anyone have to change the crankshaft position sensor yet? I got code PO336-crankshaft position sensor. I want to try and do it myself but need to know if anyone has done this and care to share their experience. I'm not mechanically inclined but since becoming a member on TYF I have been able to do a few minor repairs/maintenance myself:hands: I know I have to drop the starter to get to it. a shop told me it's not that hard, that i could possibly do it. They would chg with labor and the variation learn procedure wld be a little over $200. $120-labor and $85 learn procedure. i would get the part $47 so I'm looking at $250-$260. I'm on the fence.

Maybe this will help if you have a 5.3L engine. I can post for a 4.7 if you need it. I have ALLDATA and this is where the info came from. Doesn't look to bad from the instructions. I have not done it personally. Hope this helps.

Thanks brotha, this is very helpful. I think i can do it, i will have to pay the $85 for the variation learn procedure but everything else looks feasible.

Where you at in N.Tx?

Cool, if you are not on the BB tune list at the end of this month you should still come over and meet some of the members. Should be huge turnout.

No, I am not on the list. Wanted to wait and get some other things straight before I do that. I have been thinking about coming and checking it out. I often times wonder if any on these vehicles that I see on the road are members here. There are quite a few on the road out here.

Bro if you can... come by, would be nice to meet you. I feel you on the wondering if some of the hoes/kons on the road are members. I replaced the sensor yesterday and your link really helped a lot. We couldn't get the starter completly off but we were able to move it out of the way enough to get to the sensor. So thanks again for the info.

Glad I could help out. I have the ALLDATA for pretty much any GM vehicle 2000-up so if you need anymore info, just let me know.
