The kit comes with alignment pins to keep it in the proper location. Looking back at pics... It might have been like that since I've owned it. Measurements I took makes it square to the frame.

Okay I have I have seen a kit ans springs that someone installed that lives nearby and his did not have any alignment holes or pins on any part. As a result his axle shifted and then got that fixed at an additional cost and it was a shade-tree hack job on top of that.

I rebuilt my springs with a set 3500 springs, but being oem parts it had holes for new alignment pins

That is 100% not true. The alignment holes are built into the ******** spring perch that is welded to the rear end. The head of the spring bolt serves as the locating pin. Try again lol.

Aftermarket should have them to like I have seen from various manufactures but the stuff this guy had looked like really cheap stuff. The boxes had weight of packaging, # of boxes, part number and country of origin. Kinda of like packaging you would get something like a super cheap bicycles or exercise equipment in. Did not even have a label stuck to it. It was just stamped on the boxes themselves.

Perhaps they were just bent spring steel, and the manufacturer didnt bother to drill them since as you said they seemed to be cheap
