Anyone else have the problem where your cruise control can vary +/- 2mph?

Start going up a hill and the truck doesn't really hold the speed until it's down 2 or 3 mph. Going down the hill or when you flatten out, it'll keep speeding up until you're going 2-3 mph over the speed you set earlier.

Annoying to me and I know it annoys the people behind me when I slow down and it's not my fault. 5.3, 6 speed, 3.42, it shouldn't have any issues.

I came from a BMW with adaptive cruise (needle never moved from set speed) so I noticed this on my truck the first day. When I crest a hill I'm going 3-4 more than what my cruise was set at. It also varies a lot on inclines. I've heard it's completely normal for these trucks. However apparently the new gen. ones are way better.

I wouldn't say the new gens are better... Uphill is pretty consistent. Downhill I've seen as much as 7 over before V8 kicks in with overdrive to start slowing down... Eek! 5.3 w/ 3.42s and 6 speed...

But it's pretty much a gm thing...

part of the problem is the 6 speed tranny, so many gears it has to shift to catch up sometimes. If they even sniff a hill they shift, its annoying. If Im driving hills i stay off the cruise control and use the gas so it doesnt shift all the time.

Maybe it's just the Silverados. My friend has a 2015 Silverado and his is really consistent. These SUV's weigh a lot though. Hard to keep speed going uphill haha
