Cruise control problem

I got the clip off. I'm unsure of how to remove the actual connector from the pedal assembly.

pull the sensor towards the gas pedal, off the post it sits on. You'd have to really be trying to break anything around there.

Is it pressed on? I'll give it another try tomorrow.
I was actually braking the casing of the sensor. When I was trying to pull it off it started to crack.

I had the same thing happen to me last summer so I ordered the part from Amazon...and then my cruise decided to start working again. I guess whatever corrosion that had built up and was causing the problem fell off. Now it's February and my cruise finally went out again. When it first happened I could sort of lift up on the brake pedal or hit the side of it with my foot and it might start working again. Now it's just completely out. Glad I've already got the part, I'll have to switch it out on Sunday or something.

That was easy, hah. took less than 5 minute.
I'll give it a try tomorrow morning.


Funny thing, I took it to a shop today, they hooked up a tech II and the first thing the he said was "your brake light switch has malfunctioned". Got home and swapped it out.

When I first had the issue, I took the switch out and apart and cleaned the corrosion. This only worked for a month or so, so I put a new switch in.

This thread is a godsend. Going to see how much I can find the part in a local shop, if not I'll order from Amazon.
