I'm leaning toward the stud and nut method just because of the ease of setting that up, putting it inside would defeat the purpose of making the recessed storage compartment, and definitely not mounting that rusty thing on the outside of my nice Denali lol

OBS Denali 1/4 panel subwoofer

There are more pictures on the sub enclosure on this thread, I'm on my third version at this point but upgraded to a 13.5in woofer now, I can measure the new box and the storage box later today for your, also the sub box in the pictures on this thread was the dimensions listed on JLs website for a sealed enclosure for a 10w3 subwoofer

Used fiberglass originally then used mdf for better sound quality, I removed bracket for the tools behind there and it's only a small box. Used sheet metal and angle iron for the storage box

Storage box is 24.5in wide, 15.5in long, and 9in deep.

New sub box is 16.5in square and 10.5in deep with a notch on the bottom backside about 6in in from the back. A little small cubic ft but it sounds great

My 08 Envoy had a similar compartment built in like that. I kind of miss it. Nice job!
Those side panels in the rear cargo area seem to be a monumental waste of space. I know the jack is in one, what's in the other one? It has a fake access panel on the side which annoys me to no end.

The passenger side is the rear a/c so that one is important, and now the Jack is just stored in the storage compartment. Only downside is I never remounted my spare tire but now that I have oversized tires the factory spare is kind of useless, need a roof mount now
