I was thinking about doing exactly the same thing to the front of my tahoe with what you painted black. I love the way the Jeep Grand Cherokee Altitude editions look and I was going to sort of copy that. Instead of painting the whole lower piece black, I think I might just paint the inner area of where the tow hooks stick out.

This exactly what I want. Minus the fancy led. Ok so eat do you set the temp. on the oven and how long. Did you have to use high heat paint and what do you mean by base coat on the drls. I'm so pumped right now about doing this mine thanks for posting.

I heated at 225 for around 12-15 min. Make sure to wet a piece of cardboard and lay it on a cookie sheet. Then place your headlight on it and be sure there's no plastic touching the side walls of the oven or cookie tray, if so, it will definitely melt. Another thing, be sure to wear thick gloves when separating the lens, cause it was HOT.

I didn't paint directly on the drls (daytime running lights) I painted the inside pocket where the bulbs are located.

One thing I love of where I live is that we don't have front license plates. Totally changes the look imo.

Thanks for all the comments, great group of members here.

Tomorrow I'll be installing my ccm leveling kit. Then after that will be swapping out all the bose gear for a JL hd600/4 which will be powering some infinity kappa perfect 6.1 components in all doors and an alpine amp running the kappa perfect 12'' vq sub.

My plan is to install my nexus 7 as a head unit which fits perfectly in the double din frame. I'll try to get an install thread goin on during the process.

I created a post in the audio section mentioning that the bose and nav system will be for sale when done. Would much rather sell it to a member here than on ebay.

What did you use for the LED inside the headlamps? It looks like it was suppose to be there via the factory.
