I'm thinking about cutting out my catalytic converters on my 04 Yukon. What would the side effects be like if I did that? Check engine light? Weird idling issues? Can I get some kind of tune to correct it? Thanks for the help

You would be better off getting a set of longtubes and a ORY. Will need a tune to delete the rear O2s

Also you will NOT pass emissions after doing this.

What is your reasoning for this idea?

I agree.

Well less restrictions for better performance and better gas mileage.

I agree.
I'm sorry I'm not exactly sure what those are. Where can I get a tune? And can I run that tune with a superchip at the same time? I'm not planning on moving to California anytime soon haha

Save your money for some exhaust. I think its maybe $300 on eBay. Taking the cheap route usually ends up having you spend a lot of money on "problems". I had a 04 Suburban with turn downs under about the mid section of the truck. It was more of a hassle to keep the mufflers on and hang them than to just get exhaust. Tune was annoying to. Just my .02.

I don't have a problem with my muffler with turn downs or cutout that is right in between the passenger front and rear door.

But yes you really should save for the longtube and ORY option.
