Got a little scab on the front side of bumper.

Someone said it can be filled in without needing to be repainted ?

that looks to aggressive to NOT repaint...but with that being said, how GOOD do you want it to be.

i will follow up with a few pics i recently did of my personal truck.

here is where touch up gets tricky for most, the application of the paint ALWAYS gets ON the other paint, creating a HIGHer level from the original surface. this can be wet sand back down to LEVEL with the other paints, then polished. This leaves the new touch up paint only in the LOW created by the contact ( your scuff).

hopefully that makes since, it may take a couple applications of the paint to fill the low, but it does work and if done properly, works well.

Here is a pic of my tailgate, the side of the phones edge has a rough appearance and texture...this is an application of paint to the low area...then a wetsand of the spot, showing the level and a small spot needing additional paint.

Once filled and sanded to level, polish out.

Just to show the whole vehicle, and yes I have done this to almost every panel on a yearly basis...this truck was painted in 2011, and is driven multiple days a week....it has roughly 40K miles since 2011. point being, it can be done, but it is some work. i am actually doing numerous areas now that have seen some wear debris and minor lot blemishes from passers by.

At this point you have nothing to loose. Try rubbing compound then polishing compound to see if the scratches come out. At the worst case scenario you are out $20 and and hour of work. If it works and makes the scratches less noticeable you are ahead and can decide if you want to have the bumper repainted at a later date.

if they are indeed that deep, there are fixes for the gouges, it is just more work to do. no harm in trying yourself at this point, look for some plastic bumper repair epoxies to fill the gouge or even a glazing putty.

you can get the correct color mixed into an aerosol can, and it is much higher quality than dupli color stuff....

i have several cans that match my truck, i use it when doing touching up mirrors or small trim items that i want to match...even the interior, when it needs touch up. even the motor was a 2K aerosol, it now has 3 yrs on it and still looks like this.
