Dash and Radio Lights go off when headlights switch on

So when I manually switch the headlights on my Radio light goes off. Or when it is dark out I have no radio light or dash lights. Any suggestions?

Is the dimmer knob set to low? I experienced this once after cleaning my interior. You turn the lights on and the radio, etc switches to night mode and when the dimmer is set to minimum, they are basically dark.

No I tried adjusting the dimmer knob and it didn't make a difference

Bad dimmer switch? Does the dimmer switch work with the headlights off?

That is what I thought. I bought a new dimmer switch and had same problem. It seems something is wrong with circuit that connects the the light sensor and dims the lights when its dark out is just shutting the lights off. If I manually turn the lights on during the day the radio light will shut off.

I know when the lights are on the radio light dims a little.

Do you have an aftermarket radio or even an alarm in your truck? I can see something getting hooked up wrong or even tapping into the wrong circuit for power or something!
