Dash lights go out with lights in 'Auto'

Hey There,
I have an 04 Yukon that I just replaced the dash lights with blue LED, looks great. However, while driving to work the next day, they all went out (gasp). I manually switched the lights to the On position and they work fine. They do not work when in Auto position. WTH, anyone experience this and how to fix?

Is there a chance they only fail when the lights dim down? LED's need a certain voltage to really kick on, and might just not dim well.

Yep, that was it. After I posted, it dawned on me the daytime sensor works just fine, lol. Thanks for the response though
