they finally got back with me only to give me bad news.....

Thank you for the emails. We are sorry that you experienced this situation. We actually provide zip ties to go along with the double-sided tape, which in most instances is sufficient to keep the ballasts in place; the zip ties are an additional means of insuring that the ballasts remain in place.

Unfortunately, I'm sorry to report that physical damage to ballasts--including that which occurs due to their dismounting--is not covered under the warranty.

I wish I could provide you with better news. We do sell individual DDM ballasts; one ballast costs $25 but our DDM 35W Slim kits are now $35.

Sincerely,

Brian

No offense man, but I wouldn't have sent you new ones either.

Granted, they could come with some better instructions, but they sell so many for so many different vehicles it would still be incredibly general.

I believe they also have a disclaimer stating if you don't know what you're doing it's best to have a professional install them for you.

They send you tape and zip-ties, as well as providing a couple of pre-drilled holes for screws. From there, it's up to you how you do it. I know it's a hard lesson, but sometimes they are. Bet you won't do it that way again, too.

Just my $0.02.

I installed my fog ballasts on top of the fog light enclosure that is built in to the bumper, it is flat and kind of shelters it from the weather because of it's location. I used the sticky backing to mount it, just cleaned the bumper enclosure really really good with alcohol, no zipties! It's stuck really well, kind of tried to take it off a week later but I would have destroyed the sticker. For the price of the DDM's I'm not gonna be too upset if they ever come off on their own!

I'll tried to get a pic later today, it's raining right now and I don't feel like getting soaked!!:)

have fun after it gets dirty, doesnt stick anymore, falls down, then it rips your fog light out from underneath your truck because the ballast gets wrapped around your tire then it cracks your valence....im talking from experience if you didnt catch that. zip tie them please!!!!

I don't have a good way to get under there for pics, but there are some steel frame or engine mounts that run vertically just above the fog lights/bumper. I believe they are the same ones the radiator is tucked in between. They have holes in them in a couple of spots, which is where I zip-tied mine. They are really hard to get to with your hands, though. That was a pain...but they are as high off the ground as I could get the ballasts and are definitely attached well.

Caught it loud and clear!! For the price I didn't care, I preped it very well and is stuck solid, even went out there tonight to check them out and take a pic of where I installed them and they are sitting very solid still!! Even have the wires bundled up and ziptied and even went as far as ziptieing the wires to the fog housing as a safety in case it does come undone!!
Here is the pic I promised earlier of where I mounted mine, sorry it took so long!!
