Ended up being the ac delco battery, it was my second replacement in less than a year, was able to get autozone to take it back as it was only a few months old, and upgraded to there better battery for $25 extra.

Things are working good in truck now, divorce is shit, this woman is toxic but got a attorney and so far things have gotten better, quit my job got a new one working on fire trucks and other county vehicles , better pay etc.

Mediation was not until, march but my attorney got it moved to beginning of January. Things are better. Much appreciated this Christmas will be different alone after a 8 year marriage. But I am happy to get away from a toxic relationship.

Us men have rights too, and I never knew that!!!!
Glad you got it sorted out and I wish the best for you. Merry Christmas and keep your head up

Ok, so this battery is now not charging or I’m not sure.

So alt has been tested at at 100% functioning. Battery is two weeks old and the autozone top of the line. I noticed this morning starting truck up with remote it ran for ten minutes and shut off. So I was ready to go to work and got in-truck and it wouldn’t start! Wtf it was just running 2 minutes ago. Hook up jumper and noticed negative terminal was loose left it and went to work. Battery died again by lunch time.

I had two pigtails wired to battery posts took them off and let’s see if it won’t start again later tonight. How long do I leave truck running to fully charge battery ? I do need to grocery shop tonight.

Current reading from gauge on cluster.

I am worried it’s the starter but why would a jumpstart be needed to engage starter. Theirs no off smells, smoke or noises from any part of the engine what so ever. I have a feeling the loose post was the culprit. I have have extended warranty FULL coverage until 120k mi or four years and have only had the truck two years and it’s at 64k and some change. Bad news warranty is only honored at the dealership purchased and it’s 60mi away. Frown

They will supposedly only run about 15 minutes when remote started and I have heard that some have issues starting again after that. I haven't experienced that issue but its somewhere on this board.

Hang in there pal, been there myself too. Mine drove me to the point that I parked in the woods and ran a hose from the exhaust into the cab. I got knocked out by exhaust fumes before so I figured that's the way I want to go if I make the choice. I couldn't make myself do that to my little girls though. So I went back home and filled my duffle bag and walked away. Lived in my truck for 2 weeks until I found a place to rent.

Just replaced my battery on Friday as the old one was starting to show signs of going bad, slower cranking volt meter always charging higher than should.Bought a new battery a Die hard Platinum 94R.It is an inch longer then original.I had to remove the corner brace, battery box support brace, air box assy.unbolt the rad.reservoir then it slid right in.No spare room now at the ends. Now voltmeter is working the way it should and already starting to back off on the charging rate as you drive, like it should. Old one rarely went down to a low rate.Previous battery lasted 5 years and the original lasted two and a half years.

You did all that to put a bigger battery in? Why?

The batteries that come out of the factory are typically 3 year batteries because that matches the bumper to bumper coverage. I have learned over the years to just replace batteries when I get the itch instead of waiting for the first sign of problems. It is the heart of the electrical system and IMO, replacing it should be preventative maintenance.

Autozone.

I swapped for a new battery and have zero issues with truck running.

I also removed the v4 kill device plugged into the obd2. As far as I can tell truck runs great in either mode and haven’t seen a reason other than the exhaust sounding a little strange but again flooring it from a dead stop either I am nuts or the full v8 is not great a#’t a dead stop. Does this mean v4 at a WOT allows for torq before switching to 8 cylinders.

Renting a room now so I have a place to call home. I got this cool rear air mattress for the back with all rear seats folded down and it’s comfy, can watch movies on the media system in the back or have fun with local lot lizards.

So all in all I just happen to have a bad battery from autozone or there is an issue with something else. Only time will tell

NO v4 mode cuts off instantly when you push on the pedal, no such thing as v4 in wot that would be terrible
