Dealer not honoring warranty work..2018 5.3 Yukon issues

I am reading that getting fuel rail is nearly impossible without special tools, I cannot find the good instructions but YouTube mechanics are saying it is HARD... I can wrench and do it with precision, as long as it does not require specialized tools that cost hundreds...

I am not sure about the 2015+ design for fuel rails, but on the 2007 to 2014 fuel rails, I did not need any expensive tools at all. I will have to defer to folks that have worked on the 2015+ models on this.

Well, it's not too bad. But you're also going to need the high pressure fuel pipe underneath the intake, there's two of them. They are not re useable after they are removed. There is a special tool needed to size the seals on the high pressure injectors as well. The tool is quite expensive and there is no other way to size it. It will tear and leak if you don't have the tool. I just don't know if I'd be too confident in the injector causing this DTC. The misfire monitor would have picked this up prior to setting this particular code. It would have set a P0307 or a DTC related to the injector control. So, in short. You're not going to be able to do this job without the tool.

Those cat converter temps are not too high, they were just different showing that one side was running hotter than the other. Mine will cool down to 700-800s after idling for a while. It's easy to get them over 1500 degrees acceleratiing mildly onto the highway.

Dmitry, what happens when you hold the gas pedal down so the motor idles at 600 once warmed up?

James, it smoothes out but not completely, even in N or P I still feel "misses" but side-to-side shaking is gone just a faint feel of a miss. Interestingly enough even after full tank of Exxon, absolutely no change. I will try to replace the plugs and wires. What iridium plugs come correctly pre-gapped, I do not have tools that can gap without damaging iridium coating on plugs, so I need them factory gapped for 2018 5.3L, right now on RockAuto I see no AcDelco parts for it...

Nope, 41-114 for Gen V. 758EE for wires.

"They" say to throw away a plug not gapped correctly. I simply slip a feeler gauge in there to check the gap, if it is off, I might lightly tap it on my wooden work bench top to tighten it up. If too loose, I use a pair of pliers to bend the electrode for more space. Never force the gap setting tool or feeler gauges against the electrode.
