you paid $54 for them to reprogram the TPMS when you can do that yourself via the manual? or did they reinstall them into tires??

he had them change the pressure cutoffs. which takes about 10 minutes max with a tech2.
then a relearn.

you want stuff changed, you gotta pay.

alignment...most places only cover it for 7,000 miles (as does gm from when you buy new) now places like firestone will cover it longer, because they see this as a way to upsell next time you come in.

i understand what your saying, some stuff should be covered, but not all of it. but you don't work for free do you? Doing things yourself, such as fluid changes can save you alot of money. :hands:

Yeah, I figure a half hour of labor is reasonable to change the TPMS min/max settings. This is not something that you can just do through the DIC tool2269. I have installed a different set of wheels/tires that need to run at a much higher pressure than the stock tires. With the stock settings, if you exceed 45 psi then the DIC goes nuts with warnings and chimes. I want to run roughly 55 psi so I had them reprogram it to 35psi/60psi minimum/maximum like I said in my original post.

I'm pretty sure that I've exceeded 7,000 miles since the alignment, but I was pretty adamant about them screwing up and making it right. Luckily I also covered my butt by telling them specifically, in writing, that I wanted an alignment CHECK and to call me to discuss before proceeding. Well, the idiots went ahead and corrected the camber before calling me and getting my approval so either way they screwed up and I got a free alignment. :)

Again, I wasn't whining because I had to pay for stuff that I requested to be done...I was irritated because they tried to slide a bunch of stuff by me and I would have paid for it if I wasn't inquisitive, informed, and confrontational about their charges.

The fluid changes are probably pretty close to as cheap as I could have done them myself if accounting for time and effort. And I could have done them myself--I completely restored my Mustang from the ground up, I think I can handle changing the friggin fluids--but the effort and time just aren't worth it to me at this point in my life. I'll pay a few bucks extra here and there if it saves me a few hours of my time. I have no problem with that whatsoever.... After all, time is money. :Handshake:

I have a small fleet of work trucks that always need something. I use 2 good independent shops. Both are around $65 per hr. labor.
