Haks is right. The 3M eraser wheel is the way to go. I just recently pulled all my trim off and the eraser wheel takes the double sided tape off quick. Plus they the 3M wheel will last you a while if you ever need it again. Rubbing alcohol will also clean up any left-over residue.

Now my question is what about if your paint is original? (Well I think it is...) Is it gonna mess it up and peel the paint or look funny because the paint might be brighter under the trim??? Anyone done it this far along on original paint?

I want to do mine but dont want to repaint or should I say can't afford to paint!!!!

I've used the eraser before but on a new truck not one this old.....

Be careful. I took my passenger side moulding off and it peeled paint off. And was a darker color than the rest of the truck. But my driver side came out beautifully. When you peel the molding off. Peel it slowly, and look underneath to make sure its not taking paint off and you should be fine. I think i just ripped the passenger side trim off to fast.

Also, if you have any signs of bubbling where rust is starting to appear around the fenders. When you pull off the trim its almost gaurenteed to pull off huge chunks of rust. Happened to mine, Just letting you know man. Now im stuck with a ****** passenger side to bondo and paint.

That's exactly what I am worried about because I don't have the funds to repaint the truck and no ones volunteering to give me a free one! I used to have a '06 Colorado show truck and took all the badges off with no problem but it was a new truck...

I think I'm gonna wait and do some serious thinking before I do that! Thanks for the info though.. Makes ya think first! Even though it would look ten times better without them on!!!

use a hairdryer as you peel the molding off, makes it easier and cuts down on your chance of peeling off paint. just go slow with the hairdryer on it as your peeling and youll be cool. im also hesitant to do it cause i hate the clean up afterwards

That is why I used a heat gun to heat up the glue behind the molding. My paint is original, 14 years old and it came out fine. And not to mention '95s used a ****** primer.
