Only seemed to find discussions in this from long ago or for lifted applications…

2005 Yukon 2WD stock ride height. It looks like the OEM UCA have been discontinued. Are the “good” Moog going to last? I saw Amazon and rockauto both have them pretty cheap ($36 Amazon 63% off) and like $48 rockauto (close out?).

MOOG CK80942 Control Arm $42.99 wholesale close out

I don’t mind paying for quality, but the OEM being discontinued makes them hard to find and justify the $$$ over the moog CK. Thoughts?

Hmm, 25k seems like I don’t want them. Since my OEM have lasted 202k . 100k would be acceptable though. Decisions decisions.

oh well, I checked both upper and lower ball joints and they’re still tight so I’ll pass on this deal this time.

( 2005 Yukon XL )..... I need to replace the front / left bottom shock mount bushing......
Less labor to just replace the control arm, since much has to be removed to get to the shock bushing )
( A warning on the age of the front end , so,..... I figured to do it right )
I just got an estimate ( today), to replace both front - left / right control arms & ball joint.
About $650.00 for parts ( 'Precision Suspension" ).... and $950.00 labor.
( It's a good shop )..

I didn't shop around much for a good shop.... My great/honest mechanic, and the performance truck shop both recommended them.

I suppose the total price is in the ballpark ??

I’ve already replaced just about everything in the front end other than any ball joints. They just keep checking out fine lol

You’re going to pay but uniballs are the way to go as far as ride quality goes. I think the only company’s who make them still for the 99-06 is mazulla or dirt king and cognito/FTS but the kryptonite control arms are also super beefy and high quality. My buddy ended up running cognito arms with kryptonite ball joints and he ran bilstein shocks and kryptonite death grip tie rods and it was night and day difference over stock but again it’s pricey but it will be a one and done type deal. As for the lower control arms I’d just get the ac delco for them and when the ball joints go upgrade to kryptonite ball joints
