So one thing i cant stand... chrome. I just picked up a black 2012 suburban LTZ. IF i order the paint to match mirror caps and door handles, will they look alright just smooth black like the come? Also, on the tailgate step theres a chrome strip. If i just pull that off, does anyone know what it looks like under there? I THINK its just clipped into the underside of the step but im not sure.

Im just going to pull the side mouldings entirely, and the grill im planning on a full mesh replacement instead of the two smaller mesh sections.

Be extra careful when you pull the chrome strip on the rear bumper that you don't damage it... that way you can send it to me.

@kbuskill looks like i have to actually remove the rear bumper cover to get that step pad off without breaking it. awesome.

Damn, that's an undertaking by de-chroming an LTZ. Good luck and keep us posted with pics! :)

Why not just paint it, wrap it or dip it? Much easier then pulling it off and taking a chance in damaging it.Screenshot_20181230-145313_Gallery.jpg
I dipped the chrome front bumper, grill and that ugly plastic door moulding chrome strip. Also did the "TAHOE" on the doors. Looks better, and much easier imo.
