i would have gotten the 8spd if i was you, the WA580 is nice trans but very expensive if it can breakl since its an old Mercedes trans, that Daimler left behind when they ran with Chrysler's money. I agree with you Chrysler's full size sedan are the best at this point, money wise and looks wise. Good choice, enjoy.

We bought a 2012 Chrysler 300C Luxury Series AWD with a . . . Garmin based NAV . . .

Meanwhile, we GM chumps are stuck with a navigation system from around 1999 "designed" by some geezers that must be about the same age as the average Cadillac owner -- 110-years-old. :emotions122:

Thanks for the comments everyone.

8 speed only comes with the V-6 for now. I drove a loaded V6 and it had to shift down a lot to maintain speed on the highway. The Hemi just powers thru hills. We are going to get it tinted. Was about to put a rear headrest DVD system in but it has active head restraints so I might be going portable. V-6 AWD does get around 30mpg on the highway real world though which is fantastic for a 4000ish lb car.

ATS is either smaller or the same size as the CTS. I forgot which. Anyway CTS is too small for us as back seat room is lacking. It looks like a loaded XTS AWD is about $60k and its standard form is FWD. $10-15k higher. I know I wouldn't pay $50k for a FWD car, not even $40k. It also doesn't seem to have adaptive cruise control which I don't think I would live without now. Caddy is coming along but I love AWD and a V8. Very few manufacturers offer that (MB is another one. 5 speed is older design but still very effective. If 8 speeds normally shift as often as the V6 powered one I drove then they can keep the extra gears. To tell you the truth if I had to get rid of my Impala SS I would probably go with a Charger R/T AWD.

Another plus with Chrysler these days is that their NAV is Garmin-based. You just cannot get any easier and more accurate NAV than that.
