Deep Transmission Pan

I recently installed a transmission from Performabuilt. Now I just upgraded the transmission pan to a AFE Deep transmission pan (Part Number 46-70242). Fit perfectly.

What are the advantages of a deep pan vs. stock?

Extra Quart or two, Extra cooling, stiff rails that dont leak. Was the pickup extension Nice? I've seen a few fall out.
