Hello,

I replaced the bezel with an escalade type bezel, which seemed to go well until it got dark and the dash lights illuminated a portion of the tachometer that is no longer green. Please see pic. Does anyone know if the color on the face of the overlay and I somehow rubbed it off? Or, is on the back and I rubbed it from the back. I plan to try to match it with green marker and see if I get lucky.

Thanks very much in advance cluster.jpg

If I'm not mistaken your gauge face has slots cut in it that the bezel covers up. I'd check to see if something is causing your new bezel not to sit flat, and letting light bleed in through the slot. Is the bezel the only thing that was changed, or was the cluster taken apart? If not, the color is on the back of the face. It is possible to remove by scraping, or chemicals such as acetone or alcohol. If the color got removed somehow, you may get lucky with a marker, or some transparent fingernail polish. You might close, but I think it would be really difficult to get it dead on.

Thanks, Aaron_L. Only the bezel was changed, the overlay was not removed, so I must have inadvertently scraped off the color. I'll certainly check for the bleeding issue you mention. Hopefully I get lucky with matching the color.

All of that is on the inside. If you didn't remove the overlay the chance you removed any color is very slim.

Thanks again, Aaron_L. You were right about the light bleeding through. Once I had your suggestion and time to take a closer look, turns out the chrome ring around the tach was out of place. Once put back in place, the problem was solved. Thanks again
