Hey guys,

Summer is officially upon us here in the PNW. So I decided to break out my fun car (67 mustang) for a little sunshine cruise. After sitting all winter and me forgetting to disconnect the battery, it was dead.

So I hooked it up to the denali and figured I would try jumping it. the denali didn't give it enough juice while it was off, so with the cables still attached to both cars, I tried to start the denali to maybe help the mustang along.

At the turn of the key (on the denali) I got one single "Click" sound, and then the whole car went dead. No Dome light, Nothing when I turned the key, just dead. It stayed like that for probably 30 seconds, and then went back to totally fine.

My questions are:
1. Is this a normal thing? (It's not in my experience, but I've never jumped anything using a denali, only a Tahoe and a 97 Ram)...
2. Could this have done any damage somewhere? Fried something?

Any thoughts are much appreciated.
Thanks guys!

WHy didn't you have the denali running before you hooked up the cables? I've never bothered to try to jump a vehicle without one running first.

The reason is that your Denali battery is probably on the weak side too. That and if the stangs battery was completely drain would have been enough to make the denalis computer system shut down. This isn't a good thing to do. Voltage spikes kill computers

Yeah, it's totally fine. It reset the clock, but that's it.
