Sorry if this has been answered. Was thinking of taking my rack off. Does anyone have any insight for this removal? I'm thinking standard tools and some muscle. Heard there's no easy way to plug the holes that are left. I'd like them to still be usable should I want to put it back on.

Thanks for the input.

That's roof rack!!

It uses the star shaped screw driver. First take off the end caps and then you will see a few screws; remove them and the rack is off. I see good things in your sig-- lets see some pics!

Thanks for the reply Felix. I assume the same screws can go back in to seal it up. I guess no one can see the roof anyway

My install actually is happening this week now and will be done thursday. The Asanti grille is delayed but seeing some of the other grilles for much less I may make the switch.

Make sure you use a little bit of silicone when you put the screws back in so that you fully seal it back up....

The screws will stick up. lowes or HD carry small allen set screws which are the same threads. These will sit flush... Again, be sure to use silicone, and also make sure you have some touch up paint for the exposed hardware which still sticks up from the roof. I actually just put my roof rack back on this past weekend... With that in mind, another tip would be to have a container handy while removing everything to store the bolts/hardware for later reinstallation...

Why did you put it back on Bauer?

Didn't like the nubs (the female adapter that the screws go into) that stuck out from the roof. Although not much, it was still noticeable when you have these little things sticking up... I also didnt want to go through the costly (and essentially irreversible) welding and painting process...
