Even if it's not AWD anymore?
I finally got around to swapping out my 4L60E and AWD transfer case. I rebuilt my new trans with a Mega Monster in a box kit and one of there TC.
I couldn't be more happier with the outcome. the trans shifts perfect for my liking, not neck snapping but little firmer than stock. when I'm just driving down the road like a grandpa it shifts now, no delay. it's not a race car but it's still a very nice driver one where you could take your grandparents for a drive and never hear a word from them.
I get to hook up the trailer this weekend (GVWR of 11k) so I will see how it shifts with a little weight behind it.
Will I miss my AWD? maybe, but I never get to use it very much so why not make my truck more to what I use it for. Besides, less moving parts should equal a little better MPG.

I removed the entire AWD system. it includes.... front diff, transfer case, front driveline, front axle's. I replaced the trans with a 2wd 4L60E and a longer rear drive shaft and went to 2wd front unit bearings.
