Depo still the one?

I read the sticky on headlights above and it appeared to me that the consensus was Depo brand. I currently have a cracked passenger side assembly and need to replace it so I figured now was the time to upgrade the OEM lighting. SUV in need is 2004 2500 Suburban. Is Depo still the recommended route or have improvements been made to other brands or technologies that warrant consideration? I do a lot of night driving on Texas country highways if that would change anyone's suggestions.

I used to use Depo but I have been using TYC lately. The bulb sockets and overall quality is better imho. Grab one of each and compare for yourself.

Can you post a pic of the TYC lights? Google isn’t turning up much for me

I think I got mine on eBay but do a search for TYC 12-5100-01 on Amazon. That part number is for the left side. Do a search on TYC's website as well. Just realize that the OEM part is more than likely better certified. Look for CAPA certification. Their moto is "If it isn't CAPA certified, it isn't a genuine replacement part".

I ordered Depo first but the bulb sockets were loose when rotated into the housing. I tried swapping the stupid rubber gaskets only noticing a small bit of difference. Eventually it pissed me off a bit so I ordered TYC to compare them side by side. TYC's turned out to be a better/tighter fit.

The thing to keep in mind is that many of these Chinese aftermarket parts are hit and miss. Depo and TYC may be complacent in certain areas. So you must compare them all the time. In the past I have had superior Depo lights. Not lately.
