06MonteSS sent me my first round of his custom CMR tuning and while I still have some driving to do to get the logs updated and everything relearned I have to say .... NICE. I did the 93 octane and reset all of the parameters from a post from here. MUCH better than stock and very nice shifting and throttle response. Really wakes these trucks up and I am very happy with the initial results.

I just completed my I Tune 2 yesterday on my 2016 Yukon 5.3.

WOW !!

Driving the truck now really is fun...I got rid of the V4 "drone" and throttle response is quick with nice crisp shifts.

One of my gripes was part throttle lag in this truck and the lack of response at low to moderate speeds in normal daily driving. Now when I push the accelerator I get instant response....especially when driving in light to moderate traffic 35-60 MPH. I can give it a little bit of throttle and accelerate nicely without forcing a down shift.

So today I took a run down to South Miami ...about 150 mile round trip. I get a slight "Chirp" on a WOT 1-2 shift...and it pulls HARD way into the triple digits...suffice to say WAY past the factory governor limit !! Accelerating 80-100 is really strong !

I feel that there is a lot more to discover here especially with a Pro/custom tune.

The I Tune 2 gives the user to save multiple tunes and switch from one to the other at any time...very user friendly.

I'm lovin the Diablew Tune. Very worth it. Are you using Monte? Are you using the canned tunes and if so which one?

I started with the canned 93 and adjusted the parameters based on experience and intuition. These 5.3 motors are always going to want a bit more timing and fuel pressure at part and WOT.

I seriously think to get one spot on you need to put it on a chassis dyno. Data log interpretation can get pretty close too I would think.

I probably will hook up with Monte as soon as I can record a data log and send to him.

I'm sure you can also attest as to what a HUGE difference focusing these Direct Injection engines along with the TCM for the 6 speed can make. Thirty years ago you had to replace intake manifolds, cams and exhaust to get these kind of results on the street....not any more !! There's Gold in the Code !! LOL

So still lovin the Diablew tune? I'm considering on purchasing one with his custom tune for the 6.2L... but 8sp is still not supported. Also I live in Calif... but there is ways around that! 150 for the custom tune for a year seems pretty reasonable. Since you had it for a few weeks how is it?

Yep, I had a rental Tahoe on business this week and it was driving me nuts. Just the throttle responsiveness make a big difference... It will be staying for the long haul. Unless I have to go in for service it is in to stay. For 150 bucks, worth every penny. I just wish the Tahoe had the 6.2. Even if you have the 8 speed you can at least still do the motor and then when the tranny tune becomes available add it in. I'd ping Monte to see how that would effect pricing but he is a pretty reasonable no BS guy. When the inTune first came out they did not have the 4L60 tune for the Silverado's. When it finally make it out it loaded right up, tweaked it a bit with the CMR software and the two worked great together.
