Just finished (well, for now anyway) modding up my '08 LTZ.

Installed my K&N intake and Magnaflow cat-back system (both left over from my '07 LTZ), plus JBA shorty headers.

This time around, I opted for a Diablosport Trinity instead of the Superchips like I used on my '07.

Wow, what a difference the Trinity made! The custom tuning process was so incredibly simple (compared with sending your pcm out).

The truck responds like it (or my '07) had never done before!

The built-in tune was ok, but thanks to Lew (06monteSS on the Diablosport forums) and his tuning abilities (not to mention FAST work and friendly service) my '08 SCREAMS.......

It should be noted that I installed the CAI, Cat-back, and headers all at separate times (in that order) with a few days in-between (because of time constraints, and to see the performance gains of each).
I have to say that the headers made the biggest difference, both in passing ability and doing 0-60 runs with the trinity.....

One day I'd like to look into a supercharger, but for a Tahoe limited to simple "bolt-ons", i couldn't be happier with the performance.

They are the JBA "shorty" headers with the titanium-ceramic coating, Part # 1850S-2JT. Here is a link to them: http://www.jbaheaders.com/feature_pages/07tahoenew.asp

Of course, if you want a little more power and don't mind spending a little more money, not to mention modifying your truck considerably, you could go for some long tube headers and dual exhaust, which would require getting rid of the entire factory setup (mine is a fairly simple bolt-on setup).

We'll be installing these same JBA headers on our 2007 5.3L Tahoe... the truck is currentyl equipped with a Vortech/Lysholm twin-screw supercharger and so we are very curious as to what type of improvements our DynoJet chassis dyno will show. JBA actually sent us these headers for us to install as the installation will be featured in an upcoming issue of Chevy Enthusiast Magazine. We will thus be dyno-testing the truck in its current state and then dyno-testing after the shorty headers are installed to get a "before and after" comparison... I will let you dudes know how it goes!! :)

(by the way, if any of you Southern California guys ever wanted to use our DynoJet Chassis Dyno... just email me at [email protected] or call us at 909-987-4386... and we'll take care of you!)

When will the Trinity be able to tune the TCMs? You should see a significant change in your tune once you get that done as well!

not sure....had no answer from Diablosport about that.......I can tell you that the stock tranny parameters really stink compared even to what even my old Superchips could do for it.

Diablosport has been claiming that TCM support was "coming soon" but it has been a couple years I think. This was a big reason for me to go with BlackBear instead (best decision ever). Supposedly TCM support will come to the Trinity first, then to the Predator (and its replacement the InTune). No word on when any of that will happen based on their support forums.

Actually, the Predator will not be getting TCM support. They are turning all gears towards the InTune, whenever that comes out.
