Hey been a little while but I got the front differential fluid changed and cleaned the magnet on the drain plug. Was very dark dirty fluid and the magnet was completely covered in a thick sludge of grainy metal which from what I understand is perfectly normal. But I also changed the transfer case fluid and that had some (very small) chunks come out. They where there though. I noticed them after emptying my drain pan. I saw wierd large specks all over the bottom of the drain pan. They reminded me of what very small rust scale looks like when stripped. Almost powdery but still some chunks. About the size of average small crumbs found on the floor as odd of a comparison as that is. So I'm guessing this could be a bad thing? But I'm not sure. I got brand new fluid in there now and its still making all the same noises. Will be checking the rear differential fluid level asap though. If I climb under the Tahoe a pull on tuendrige shaft I can get it to wiggle a bit up and down or side to side but when driving that second to third shift is just clunking so loud. It really reminds me of the Yukon I had an while back that would clunk really hard at a stop and when taking off. Almost felt like a light rear end collision sometimes. This just does it between 2nd and 3rd gear.
