i admittedly dont know much about steros. ive got the indash changer and all the door speakers say bose. but in the back, the area that a sub would be, the panel isnt perforated, its the plastic that looks like it would be.
am i missing something?

The factory radio doesn't have the EQ settings for you to turn the bass up enough to hear the sub. At least I never heard it or felt it with my factory Nav unit. Swapped to a nice Alpine and tuned the EQ and I can finally feel and hear it doing it's job.

Hmmmm? My 06 Yukon with the TNR 800 and My 06 Sierra both with BOSE make my rearview mirror vibrate just listening to Jim Croce on XM the Bridge. If I pop in and old Ice Cube CD or Warren G my console vibrates and I can feel the sub pushing air at the bottom of the console. You might have had a bad radio, but I'm sure the aftermarket probably wakes the sub up more. :)

Glad I looked into this thread. The Bose in my old Camaro hit pretty hard and would shake the rearview mirror but the Bose in my Escalade seems pretty weak in comparison. Don't get me wrong it sounds great for a factory system, just doesn't have the same punch as my old SS. I would have never guessed theyd put a sub under the cup holders.

My truck is an 04, I just picked up a nice Alpine GPS double DIN so hopefully thatll wake the little sub up.

Good choice on the alpine! Now when it comes to the GMOS-04 there's an adjustment knob built into it that's supposed to do the auto volume when you increase or decrease speed. I never got it to work but it does either make the volume really low or high and the chimes loud as hell or really quiet. Adjust it before you cram it back behind the radio and get everything all back together or you'll be removing everything again. It takes a phillips head screw driver but DON'T push on it too hard or it will bend it. Just a heads up.
