Did the U-Joint test and may have found out something worse.

Yup, will do it every time, seen plenty of those kind of u joints over the years.

Still amazed my rear originals lasted 248k miles. Only had one with a dry arm and squeaked. There were non greasable too.

Mines was shattered put a new one in and it popped back out after about 5 miles damn! What did I do wrong??

I'm gonna go out on a limb here and say ... you put it in wrong.

No I did not do it. A Friend of mine who is a Mechanic Put it in Properly and greased the you Joint. We changed it and it may have been defective. The cap just came off on one
side. But I am putting it on a lift and greasing this week. I ran out of grease. any suggestion?

he did get the retainer clips on properly right? kinda sounds like one was not fully seated or the u-joint was not center in the yoke/shaft end.

There's no way that a cap that was fully seated, pressed in with clips properly seated and then just fell out.
