I'm still looking to buy and am wondering about what some of the differences between the '02, '03, & '04 Denali XL's might be?

Some I noticed:
- '03 had an updated steering wheel. (Can an '03 wheel hook up without mods to the '02?)
- '02 had the message center next to the CD changer. (Where is the message center on the '03?)

Are there other differences for these years? How about performance wise(engine, suspension, etc.)?

I just noticed the climate controls are different. Has anyone swapped the '03 into the '02?

Some general stuff:

""StabiliTrak" stability control was offered for the first time in 2003, as were XM Satellite Radio, Bose audio, and a DVD entertainment system as the models continued to climb upmarket. Both engines received 10 hp (7.5 kW) more for 2004. It was the first generation of Tahoe, where the FlexFuel engine was available." http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chevrolet_Tahoe#2000.E2.80.932006_.28GMT800.29

03 is when they updated the interior (seats, double din radio slot, stereo system, center console, steering wheel) and mirrors. The DIC is on the cluster under the speedo and is controlled by steering wheel controls. As far as motor and suspension, my 03' has the 6.0, auto ride and is AWD. That's about all the knowledge I have on these years. I'm sure somebody will chime in with More info for ya.

I also was looking at the 01-02 models and bought my 03 because of the interior upgrades and it had super low miles

They both have high miles. Not a bad price on the 2003. What's the price on the 2002?

I know '03-'06 were improved. I wonder if there is an "Universal GMFS options list" out there somewhere? I bet that thing would be pretty damn useful! Like a shopping list! lol

They are both selling around the $7500 mark. The mileage they have doesn't scare me that much after seeing what people are getting out of this engine.

Found this information:

For 2003, all GM full-size trucks received an upgraded interior, with better-quality materials and other enhancements. New radios offered Radio Data System compatibility, XM satellite radio, Bose sound and improved ergonomics. Adjustable pedals were added as an option, and the instrument cluster-mounted Driver Information Center was improved and could report to the driver on as many as 34 vehicle functions. A Panasonic DVD system was added as an option.

GM's Stabilitrak system was added, and Quadrasteer became available on 2500 series Suburbans, although it never became popular because of its cost and the fact that it ultimately reduced the heavy-duty Suburban's towing capacity to little more than that of the half-ton series.

Yeah, I too have to say that these trucks are (surprisingly) built like a brick shit house! Like Buddy Lee: "You just can't bust 'em." lol
