Different back glass......whats the reason?

Mine has the first one and it's an 04 with the factory glass, still has the VIN in the bottom left.

I don't ever remember having seen the 2nd style...but I'm going to start noticing out of curiosity.

yeah looks like some pre 04+ came with it also but i want to say the majority of them come off an 05-06 Tahoes

Well this is neat I would have never imagined that this had not already been noticed before.

The real question is which does everybody prefer?

I think i would prefer the one on the gray truck because it is glass all the way to the edges, no black plastic outline to sun fade or get mold spots on.

BTW I don't know if this has been mentioned already but the styles difference is not just on yukons or tahoes just today I have seen 2 like the style on the gray truck on a couple of suburbans.

Also the style glass on the gray truck makes me wonder if those would be easier to add a caddy 3rd brake light to without changing back glass.

The second picture is an updated design for 2006 models. It will swap right on to an older truck.

1st one same as my 2003, but I like it better, doesnt have a stray handle sitting there all by itself, and my plastic is just like new so...
