Dim Low Beams 2016 Tahoe

Hmm, I just had a Tahoe 2015 with a diode tape. Here in the photo the dipped beam is turned on forcibly. but the diode strip is also visible. Accordingly, in the DRL mode, only the diode strip shone, and the low beam was turned off

I guess I will have to dig deeper into this. But I need to clarify that I am talking about vehicle running and in drive without the parking brake set.

Any difference if you manually turn on the low beams, rather than using the auto-on sensor? Seems it could be a bad light sensor, or wiring.

No difference at all, same dim light. On the county roads at night it was hard to even maintain a good speed when I couldn’t use the high beams.

Yes, it is. The car is stationary, the engine is on, parking mode, the parking brake is off. It's the same in drive mode

Maybe your car previous owner did something wrong with the headlights

From what I recall, 2015-2016/2017 LS/LT Tahoe/Suburban and corresponding Yukons had the DRL as the high beam bulb at a lower intensity, and 2018+ moved all models to the LED strip previously reserved only for the models with HID headlights. I’m wondering if your light sensor might be out? When you are comparing modes, are the taillights turning on and off appropriately?

I don't understand a little. DRL and dipped beam are different headlight units. DRL is a diode strip that separates the near and far blocks of the headlight. and Low beam is the upper headlight assembly. Do you mean that the strip of diodes does not get brighter or dimmer when switching to DRL and Low beam?

2016 uses the low beam as ddl, not the strip unless you have purchased an plug converter from cmatt.

It turns out that in Russia, tahoes came with more advanced headlights, because we had DRLs that were a diode strip from the very beginning, since 2015. My car is just 2015 and the strip can be seen in the photo
