I’m trying to replace my accelerator pedal sensor assembly on a 2004 Yukon. This is an adjustable accelerator and the wire that I don’t know how to unplug goes to the adjustment motor. I’ll try to attach a photo that shows the problem area. Does this pull straight out? Do I need tools to unplug it?

I’ve figured it out. There are a couple of locking clips that you have to release to free up the motor wire. There is a little access opening below each nub that sticks out (the nubs that secure the protective plastic collar). I freed these clips by inserting a microscrewdriver (flat head) into the hole and pushing in and up. Once they are freed, the motor cable pops right out

By the way, I replaced the accelerator pedal position sensor and the throttle position sensor and the Yukon with 223K miles on it drives MUCH better. No more annoying lag time between pressing the pedal and getting the power. Much more responsive. I think the pedal sensor replacement is primarily responsible for this change. I did the TPS because I got the "reduced engine power" issue, and I figured with 223K I'd go ahead and throw parts at it. Appears to have worked quite well, although time will tell about the reduced engine power.
