Just get the vehicle? Has it ever kicked in?
No, I've had the truck for 4 years and yes it has worked up until i noticed it today. I'm guessing it hasn't worked for a few weeks as I saw my mileage slip from 17.6 on average to 15.9 on my last few tanks.

DOD only enables under light engine loads/light throttle conditions. How many miles are on the engine? There are many factors which could be the root cause such as a vacuum leak, buildup in crankcase sludge, or perhaps a failure of a mechanical component (lifter, etc.). Does DOD not remove fuel from those cylinders that are shut down? If not, how can that promote better fuel economy?
