Wow, i understand a budget, but save up and buy the right tube. Intake does not do that much that it needs to be home made like that. They aren't $300. Not sure where you looked. $100 bucks all day brand new here w/ filter. Or used for $50 or so.

just my .02. Heck tell me your budget and i'll find you one.

Thanks for everyone's "concern." Haha. This was never intended to be a long-term mod. I understand it looks like crap, but it will survive a couple tanks of gas. Long enough to see if removing the oversize silencer and adding the aftermarket filter adds any noticeable HP, throttle response, or MPG.

I haven't been able to find any concrete reviews of aftermarket intakes on here. This who have applied the suggested intakes, any quantifiable improvements?

The other thing is that dryer tube and the thin walls of it, makes you wonder if the cold air wouldnt reheat in the dryer tube......
