DIY painted hood. Clear coat was coming off so bad that it peeled while doing 70 mph on the highway. This paint is Color Match from Oreillys. Its $6 a can. And I dont think it looks too bad. It aint perfect. But it also isnt peeling anymore. I ran it thru the auto car wash today and no problems at all. I did sand very well and primed before. But this is a rattle can job on a weekend. Its uneven and kinda shotty. But it looks way better than a hood that looks like it has a sunburn.

Looks good. The hood could use another coat and some clear and I think it would look great.

My point was to simply stop the peeling. I'm no pro nor do I claim to be one. I was thinking maybe by someone reading this they could see what this "color match" paint looks like. Some of us can't afford to run out and have new paint thrown on by a pro shop.

I would wet sand then give it another couple coats of color then a wet sand and clear coat.

My 96 ecsb need this treatment. The hood is all peeled(sunburnt) And this looks much better.
